Compared to a lot of people my age I have been to a lot of weddings - at least 15 I think, which is a lot considering most of my best friends aren't married yet.
I love watching couples proclaim their love for each other in front of family and friends, I love the food, the ceremony and of course the dancing!
A few weeks ago I was asked to photograph the wedding of my friend Alissa's mum to her girlfriend Kaz. I warned them that I am not a wedding photographer but would be happy to take some photos for them on their special day.
Even though I was nervous and I went through three cameras (after one breakdown and one battery death) I am really happy with the results. The location certainly helped - the castle which is now a hotel was a spectacular backdrop for the photos.
It was such a lovely day to be a part of - Kaz and Vicki are so happy to be with one another, there was so much love flying around the room that everyone was in tears by the end!
I would love to do more wedding photography - but perhaps with only small weddings like this - maybe I could have a rule that I need to know everyone and there are 10 or less people involved!
